Already, we knew that George Stephanopoulos was in line to succeed Diane Sawyer,whose last day on “G.M.A.” is Friday. Now we know that another new person will be joining Mr. Stephanopoulos on the couch.

Chris Cuomo, the morning show’s news reader, is exiting the show. He will be

replaced by JuJu Chang, an ABC News correspondent, according to a person

familiar with the plans.

The New York Post first reported the change Tuesday afternoon.

ABC is said to be in negotiations with Mr. Cuomo about a new position. He could become the co-anchor of the Friday night newsmagazine “20/20.” The program is currently anchored by Elizabeth Vargas. If he stays at ABC, Mr. Cuomo, the son

of Mario Cuomo, the former governor of New York, would also flex his reporting muscles more often.

Over the weekend, ABC was forced to deny an online report that Mr. Cuomo had tendered his resignation.

On Twitter, where he has almost a million followers, Mr. Cuomo wrote Mondaymorning, “Yes, change is coming. I invite it, honestly. All is good. Will tell more soon.”

The story fits his M.O.: it’s said that Woods met Rist, a New Yorker who is a regular at some of Manhattan’s better clubs, at Butter last year.

“They went on to another party,” says an insider. “One thing led to another and, pretty soon, Tiger was flying her to hook up with him on tour.”

“Tiger would typically get a large suite at a hotel. Someone would book Cori an adjacent room, so she wouldn’t be seen coming into his room.”

Sources say Cori Rist found the intrigue fun.

“He would get the presidential suite,” says the same source. “It was the ultimate in luxury. The trouble is, he never wanted to leave the room.”

According to a report, Brittany Murphy has been fired from her latest movie, and Twilight actress Rachelle Lefevre replaced her. A news has been circulating over the weekend that Simon Monjack, husband of Brittany Murphy, was taken to a hospital as he was unresponsive on a flight to L.A. According to sources, Brittany Murphy told the paramedics that her husband suffered an asthama attack but on the other hand the medical team wasn’t sure about it. The medical team released Monjack last night from the hospital.

The tale got a twist when famous celebrity blogger Perez Hilton reported that she was on the flight along with her husband because Murphy had been fired from her latest movie on which she was working.
