Premature Baby Declared Dead Wakes Up Before Funeral
Angel Salvador was a Paraguay premature baby who was declared dead and then woke up before his funeral. The premature baby boy never had his vitals checked by medical personnel who believed him to be dead.
The location was the state run hospital in Asuncion. Angel was born four months premature at 17.6 oz. His father took baby Angel home for the family’s funeral wake. Then suddenly released the child was alive right before his funeral wake.
Upon return, the child’s organs were determined to weak. On Monday, Angel reportedly passed.
Dr. Ernesto Weber, head of pediatric care at the state-run hospital in the capital of Asuncion, said the baby weighed just 500 grams (17.6 ounces) when he was born.
“Initially, the baby didn’t move, he practically didn’t have any respiratory reflexes, nor did we hear a heartbeat and, as a result, we declared a premature fetus of 24 weeks dead,” Weber told Reuters Television.
